Please write an essay of 2000-2500 words in response to one of the following questions. In your essay you should use at least one of the literary texts and at least one of the theoretical texts
studied in class. You should, of course, supplement this with your own secondary research.
1. What would it mean for humans and other animals to be ‘companion species’?
2. Does anthropomorphism help us to better understand nonhuman animals?
3. Consider the literary, ethical, and philosophical implications of the use of animal characters in fiction.
