Climate change has been in news and steps to be taken for short and long term reversals are under debate-especially if you follow the debates amongst presidential candidates and the NYC’s Mayor’s speech after hurricane Sandy. The climate change debate somehow always takes a political turn but for this class we will adhere to the science part.

I missed the recent lecture (Apr 6) by Christiana Figueres (executive secretary of the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change) who was at UMB discussing the Paris Agreement of December 2015. I am trying to find out if there is a video somewhere you may get access to. You can read some recent news here:

using the attached PDF file with instructions to collect data for your house (could be your parents’ house or someone you know) to plug into the websites to estimate your carbon footprint. The only item missing is the volume of water you consume which could be significant.
