1- Read the chapter and then answer the following questions:
Describe the elements of a business intelligence environment.
Describe how a neural network works and how it benefits businesses.
How much can business intelligence and business analytics help companies refine their business strategy? Explain your answer.
2- Read case study “Big Data Make Cities Smarter” on page 380. Then answer the following questions:
What are the people, organization, and technology issues that should be addressed by “smart city” initiatives?
What problems are solved by “smart cities?” What are the drawbacks?
Would you be concerned if social media data were used to supplement public data to help improve the delivery of municipal services? Why or why not?
3- Watch the video cases in Chapter 11 folder on the blackboard. Select one case and answer three questions from the list of Case Questions in that case.
