The Convention on Biological Diversity is a framework convention. Its provisions only lays down broad principals and objectives. Although there exist two protocols to the CBD, this by itself is not sufficient to push forward the agenda of biodiversity protection. The CBD can and should work in synergy with other treaties. Identify two treaties that can complement and help to achieve the objectives of the Convention on Biological Diversity.
