ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR
Competency 3064.1.1 Behavioral Influences – The graduate describes the effects of specified influences on individual behavior.
Introduction:
The influences on individual behavior are limitless. In this task, you will explore the impact of your personality (your individual strengths, weaknesses, and personal experience) on your individual behavior. In addition, you will apply a specific behavioral theory in improving your personal interactions. As you gain an understanding of how your unique personality influences your own behavior, you will be able to make adjustments that will increase the quality of your interactions with others.
Requirements:
Your submission must be your original work. No more than a combined total of 30% of the submission and no more than a 10% match to any one individual source can be directly quoted or closely paraphrased from sources, even if cited correctly. Use the Turnitin Originality Report available in Taskstream as a guide for this measure of originality.
The rubric provides detailed criteria for evaluating your submission. It is expected that you use the rubric to direct the creation of your submission. The rubric aspect titles may contain hyperlinks to relevant portions of the course.
A. Complete self-assessment 3.1 (p. 82) “What is My Big Five Personality Profile?” found in the web links section below before doing the following (suggested length of 2–3 pages):
1. Describe two specific dimensions from your personality profile results that you consider to be strengths.
a. Consider an experience in your life in which you were successful. Describe the experience and how these dimensions of your personality influenced this success.
2. Describe two specific dimensions from your personality profile results that you consider to be weaknesses.
a. Consider an experience in your life in which you struggled. Describe the experience and how these dimensions of your personality influenced this struggle.
3. Describe how your personality influences your interactions with others in the workplace or in your personal life. Include a specific example.
Note: Use, for example, the dimensions of the Big Five Personality Profile or other Individual Differences traits in describing your personality.
4. Summarize, in your own words, one of the following behavioral theories and describe how it could be applied to your life to create more positive interactions or relationships with others. Use a specific example from past experiences or an experience that you anticipate having in the future.
