This essay will be your opportunity to demonstrate the role of your interdisciplinary major (Focused on Business) in the larger academic environment, as well as your own potential career (to be an investment analyst). This essay will also serve as the introduction to your learning and career planning portfolio. As you write your essay, be sure to reflect on your entire college and personal history and how your experiences have enriched you as well as made you a more marketable candidate in your intended field or career. (I’m from China, and please do include this background in the essay. I have working experiences as an real estate agent in China)

Some things to think about include: The personal characteristics that suit you for interdisciplinary study; your understanding of your self-identity; why you chose your area of study ( business); the key events, situations, or interests that led you to your academic interests; your values, skills, strengths, and weaknesses; how you plan to use your interdisciplinary knowledge and skills. Obviously, no single paper will be able to include all of these things, so you will have to refine and focus on what you see as the most significant elements of your own personal journey.
