In the state of West Carolina, Millage is used to determine the taxable yield.

1 mill = .1% of the assessed value of property. In other words, 1 mill = $1 per $1000 of assessed value.

In the Milltown District, the School Board levies the following Millage rates:

5.2 mills Required Fair Share

1.2 mills Discretionary Tax Millage

1.5 mills Capital Outlay

1 mill = .0010, 5 mills = .005

The Milltown property appraiser assigns a taxable property value of $19,800,000,000 for all the property in the Milltown District.

The Milltown District has a student enrollment of 50,000.
