Analysis of the factors that affect e-trust and e-loyalty in online retail shopping-a comparison of the developed country (UK) with the developing country (India)
I have created a document as a guideline highlighting how to structure the Work, the marking strategy and how the assessors are going to judge my work. It also contains the relevant information about the font size and style. (I will be uploading it later and the file name is Dissertation Guideline.)
For my dissertation topic, I have drafted the Introduction and most sections of the Literature Review (conceptual model and the conclusion not completed). In the drafted document in order to achieve the objective of this study, I have tried to examine the interrelationship of the different antecedents of e-loyalty and e-trust in online retail shopping existing in the literature. Based on those theoretical foundations I have developed few hypotheses on the subject matter whose impact on India (a developing country) and UK (a developed country) will be reviewed later in the Findings section. This research will aid towards measuring the level of concurrence and congruence of these factors in both the above mentioned countries. The written section is a reflection of how I wanted to approach i.e. based on secondary data, hypotheses are drawn which will be reviewed through primary data collection.
As the aim is to score good marks, a fresh look and fresh perspective to this research is most welcome. Please have a read to my drafted dissertation. It will be good if some of the existing written sections could be used if it is thought to be relevant and important and will do justice to the dissertation. In terms of reusing the written section they need to be reworded to avoid plagiarism as some of them is directly copied and pasted.
Some of the points that need to be taken into consideration while
writing this dissertation are: .
a> Based on my Dissertation Proposal Feedback where the initial topic was “Role of Customer’s Trust and Loyalty Towards Online Shopping”, considering the vastness of the subject I was asked to concentrate either on an organisation or an industry. So, I chose to concentrate on the retail industry and modified my topic to “Analysis of the factors that affect trust and loyalty in online retail shopping-a comparison of the developed country (UK) with the developing country (India)”. So, in the dissertation there should be a continuous emphasis about how the e-trust and the e-loyalty factors affect the chosen industry.(This is somehow lacking in the draft that I have prepared. So enough focus needs to be there).
b> Since there are limited studies concurrently done on both the selected developed (UK) and the developing (India) countries, I have thought of this topic for my dissertation. This needs to be highlighted in the Research Purpose or wherever it fits best in the dissertation with suitable references.
c> Consideration the limitation of the word limit, it is not possible to take into consideration all the e-loyalty and e-trust factors in existing literature for this dissertation. Therefore it needs to be highlighted what factors we have chosen and why have we chosen them.
d> As a part of this dissertation for the Literature Review, it will be good if attention could be given on the development of the platforms over the last few years to link the issues of e-trust,e-loyalty. Also please try to use references for the recent years.
e> As part of the dissertation, it will be good if is backed by some stats. For example, the way I have highlighted about the “Internet Penetration” with figures. Additionaly, it will be good if some figures could be used for this dissertation.
f> As part of my Dissertation Proposal feedback, for the Methodology section some of the things which were missing and was asked to focus on while writing my final dissertation are
• To start with the discussion of Research Philosophy an essential starting place for any piece of research.
• Who will the research be targeted at?
• What will the sample group look like?
• How many people will be sampled?
• How will they be selected?
• The order in which the qualitative and quantitative research will be conducted-one should inform the other and both should be mutually supportive?
• Method of Analysis- once the data is collected, how will you analyse it?
g> For this dissertation it needs to be remembered that the writing needs to show the breadth and depth of the literature search which has informed the research and the academic debate surrounding the issues considered. It needs to adopt a critical stance.
