Order Description

Each student will present their Advanced Clinical Decision Support idea via 3 slides

Criteria for Evaluation
Content (17 points):
In your presentation, you must include all of these elements
1. Pick a quality clinical metric to create a Clinical decision support rule for. (1pt)
2. Research the reasoning and provide information as to who recommends this metric or clinical guideline. (3pts)
3. Design most appropriate method for Clinical Support for the CDS rule (e.g. an alert, pop-up, reminder, information text, best practice advisory etc.) (3pts)
4. Describe at what point in the EMR work flow the CDS should occur. (3pts)
5. Indicate how the alert pop up etc. should look. Is it a colored marker, a sound, an information box etc. This requires research on how CDS are constructed in EMRs. (3pts)
6. Identify what types of outcomes this CDS will address (e.g. process, clinical, economic outcomes (to get more money, to reduce time?)). (2pts)
7. Present high level next steps for how we might measure CDS effectiveness (2pts)
