This paper presents a hybrid method for a coupled plate-cavity analysis, which applies an impedance mobility compact matrix method (IMCM) for the acoustic cavity and statistical energy analysis (SEA) for the flexible plate. The resulting hybrid model leads to a different way of calculating the coupling strength of the plate-cavity system in the low-mid frequency ranges. The combined analysis results has been verified by the measurement result from a plate-cavity physical model. The application of the proposed method to better understand the cabin boom noise issue.
